Pizza Night

Friday night = pizza night. It's form varies depending on the current financial situation. We've had Cici's night, frozen pizza night and homemade pizza night. This past Friday was deemed a homemade pizza night and I wanted to try a variation that I've been thinking about for a while. Pizza on the grill. Everything I've read about it gives it an incredible review and it pretty much lived up to the hype. Especially the crust.

Not nearly as amazing as the pizza itself: being locked out on the patio after a North Texas cold front came through while without shoes or a jacket because a certain toddler has discovered how to turn the lock on the door. Except that she hasn't figured out how to unlock. Not that she really minded. She gave it a go and then decided that sitting on the living room floor and flipping through books was much more entertaining than Mommy knocking and pleading and giving unlocking instructions.

At least dinner was a success.

Delicious. (Finally.)

Meet the newest addition to the Felt Food Family: Kacy's Yummy Frosted Doughnuts. I am finally happy with the construction process. It was a bit of a trail-and-error:

1. Ugly seams, not lined up correctly. Hole is waaaaaay too big. Sprinkles=cute.
2. Overcompensated on the hole. Oops. Not happy with seam. Looks like Frankenstein's head.
3. No Franken-seams. Hole just right. Yummy.

Taco Night was tasty.

I love making tortillas.  Ridiculously easy.  Incredibly flavorful.  Deliciously satisfying.  Oh yeah, I think they're that good.  I credit How to Cook Everything with letting me in on the secret.

Happy Birthday, CK!

I needed to make a gift that a 4-year-old boy would like, so I thought about it and decided that I couldn't go wrong with making him something that he is supposed to throw around.  I'd be lying if I said I didn't try it out (repeatedly).  You know, for quality control purposes.   I'll be making Rory (me) some of these, too.
