Sleep is for suckers.
Somehow I made it through last year without making Rory a stocking for the house. ( She had one at my in-laws place, so Santa didn't skip her.) After I made stockings for my parent's house for her and my sister-in-law, I finally got around to Rory's for home. I used a turtleneck shirt that she has as inspiration for the pattern and am really pleased with the way it turned out. We don't have a fireplace, and I've been trying to come up with a good way to display stockings for several years now. I found cool mini frame hooks (that still need pictures) for the entryway that work well. Now Santa can come right through the front door.
I'm postponing all normal sleep patterns until January when I should be finished with my Christmas elf duties. Until then, I'll be swimming in felt and glue, thread and fabric, stuffing and resin and yarn and paper and ink and everything else. I'm starting to feel like I have a sense of direction, though...I think. Not that it soothes the frantic nature of everything, but frantic isn't always bad. Sometimes frantic is the catalyst for creative explosion. Or wishful thinking. I'm going to stay positive.
