Finally.

Reusable produce bags are in my Etsy shop! They only good thing to come of my Walmart purging their craft section was a bolt of light blue tulle netting. Hooray!

Délicieux Pain Français

Yesterday I made French Dip sandwiches for dinner. I figured that since I spent so little time on the meat (hello, crock pot) that I'd put some effort into the bread. Fresh baked french bread is slightly addictive. Mmmmm. Have I mentioned my ongoing love affair with How To Cook Everything?

Today is June 12, which means that it's time to wish Andrew a happy 29th birthday! Hooray!

Custom Felt Entrees, Coming Right Up!

I am working my way down my to-make list and finally finished this custom order for Etsy. Stir-fry, tea sandwiches and soup are now on the menu! This one was fun- there was so much to figure out how to create. So far, my favorites are the green beans and baby corn. My stomach has been growling since I photographed everything this morning.

So true.

Notecards commission by Laine. With her permission, I may have to put this on some onesies...

Happy Birthday, Anne!

I approached a gift for Anne's first birthday with Chuck (see previous post) in mind and came up with these wonky little birdies. Rory's Aunt Shannon gave her a cute book about a sparkly princess and I thought the illustrations lent themselves to softies, especially the birds. And since I'm still partial to birds, I gathered up the book, a bunch of fabric and felt scraps, and got to work. Rory got the first draft and now I think she expects a bird each day. This could get disappointing quickly.

I was telling my college roomie (and Anne's mommy) that it is harder to come up with gift ideas for her girls because she is so creative herself. A good challenge, though, and definitely fun. We also gave Anne some felt flower hair clips. Not sure why they haven't done much in my Etsy shop; I use them in Rory's hair all the time and love them. Hmm.

Happy birthday, sweet Anne! We can't believe a year has already flown by!

Chuck

Meet Chuck.

I was working on Landry's crib bumpers this morning and Rory was fascinated with the fabric.  She chanted "birdie, birdie, birdie" and then looked up at me with her best puppy dog eyes, adding "please" for good measure.  While I would not let Rory dance around the kitchen with the bumper pads (her hands are mostly clean), I told her that I would make her a bird instead.  After thinking about my offer for a second she decided that would be okay.  She took the bird to bed (where she's been non-napping for the last hour and a half) and told me that his name was "Chuck".  So be it.

2/6 crib bumpers.  I am in love with the fabric, too.

Pudding Pops- The Next Generation

In college I once emailed the people at Jell-o politely demanding that they bring back Jell-o Pudding Pops.  My life had a void that only chocolate-vanilla swirl could fill.  I received a form letter stating that they had no intention of making Pudding Pops again.  It was a sad day.  Cindy and I tried freezing pudding cups.  NOT even close.

Last week I found a recipe that I will allow to be called the next best thing.  Secret ingredient: Cool-Whip!  I didn't have Oreos on hand, so we omitted them, but judging by Rory's face, I doubt she minded.

I'm still holding out for new Bill Cosby commercials, but in the meantime, these will do.

Morning Harvest

To be fair, our garden is only thriving because of Andrew's green thumb.  But since I picked and washed this today, I'll take some of the credit.  Looks like we'll be having some broccoli with our chicken wraps tonight!

How to make a cheap dinner fancy.

Fun with condiments.

Happy Birthday, Rory! (very belated post)

I intended to make Rory a dress for her second birthday, but simply ran out of time.  I did manage to make this cool bunting, though.  She really liked it ("Mommy, look!  Birthday!") so I was pleased.  The goal was to use up a bunch of random fabric scraps.  It worked, although looking at my stash you can't really tell that I used any.  Yikes.

June is Landry month!

His and Hers diaper bags for Landry's parents.  Accessories, too.  I'm a wee bit excited about this baby.  (Her bedding is almost completely finished as well, but a crib skirt and sheets don't photograph so well without the crib to model them.)
