T-Shirt Transformation, Parts 2 and 3

Oh my.  I'm having entirely too much fun cutting up old t-shirts and making them into new pillows for my living room.  But it's so easy.  And quickly gratifying.  Not to mention that old t-shirts are soft and comfy- exactly right for the couch.

I like accessorizing with white lately.  Big color with white pieces.  I'm loving it.  I've had some pillows from the college apartment years that haven't been used much because they don't match with anything we have right now.

Three shirts later I have two new pillows for the couch.  Pintucks!  Gathers!  Playing with different textures was cool and I think they work pretty well with the ruffly t-shirt pillow that I made earlier.  Now I'm not sure that I can stop.  Doesn't my bed need some cool pillows?  Rory's room?  No shirt is safe!

In this house, we like to start the TCU-love early.  Like, in the womb.  Jack obviously needed some TCU gear to wear to the games this year and so I quickly whipped up some iron-on transfer onesies.  I really should remember where I got the pictures from to give proper credit, but it was late.  Like, really late.  So, you know, I found them somewhere in a Google search and then played in Photoshop a bit.

For controlling the drool-factor, I also made some quick mini burp cloths.  One side has soft flannel or burp cloth fabric.  They are great for shoving into pockets and quickly wiping the adorable mouth of one Captain Droolypants.

T-Shirt Transformation

I don't really remember where I first learned about this kind of project, but I've been sitting on the idea forever. I finally put it into action and love the result.

I took an old (freshman year of college?) white t-shirt and cut strips, sewed/gathered them to make ruffly strips, then made them in to a pillow. That's it. I'm thinking I'll have to make a matching one of these. And possibly one with different colors. And also maybe one with some t-shirt design showing. That might be fun. And...And...

I'd love to pretend that it sits alone in a chair, looking classy. Not a chance. It actually lives quite comfortably with the chaos that is usually my living room. Today: a felt Moose (Thanks, Nick Jr.!) and a dinosaur coloring book with markers. Hooray!

Happy Birthday, Baby Joe!

Our neighbor turned one and Rory wanted to get him a dinosaur and some juice. I decided to change it up a bit and whipped up a soft book for him. Happy birthday, Joe Bear!

It's Just A Little Crush

I have been in love with this "Apples and Pears" fabric for a looooong time and finally found a good project for it- this breasfeeding cover (retails as "Hooter Hider") commissioned by Heather for a gift. There are a bunch of patterns floating around the Net, all very simple. I got a little extra fabric and am currently trying to decide on another project worthy of its fruity awesomeness.

My favorite part was Rory's enthusiastic, "Woo! You did it, Mommy! We can play toys now!"
