Round Up- November

Bibs & Produce Bags
I made a bunch of bibs and produce bag sets in November.  My sewing machine has paid for itself a thousand times over.  I can't remember the last time a day passed without turning it on at least once.  Good stuff.

Spy Owls, Etc.
More!  Hooray!  They are impossible to pick up and not play with, no matter what age you are.  I made these with a canvas(ish) fabric that turned out well, plus a special request monkey.  Rory's buddy Sophia got a pink fleece owl for her birthday this year.

Autumn Leaf Branch
What a great idea for including a three-year old.  This was from this tutorial on lovelydesign.  Rory actually did a lot of the painting.  I think it turned out really well!

Elf on the Shelf
Meet Bernard.  He's our take on the Elf on the Shelf concept.  I'll admit, we don't have the book.  I've read it before at a friend's house and thought the idea was great.  I whipped up our own elf on Black Friday before the rest of the house was awake.  Bernard might not be exactly the same as the other Shelf Elves, but he sure works at our house.

He's my elf version of the super-cool Black Apple Doll pattern.  I finished him before doing a little more research into the pattern construction and so he's a little skinny in the arms and legs. I'm just going to say that it adds to his charm.  Yeah, that's it.

Unfortunately, December will most likely be round-up style, too.  I want to make sure Christmas gift recipients are surprised!

Round Up- October

Oops.

I'm a little behind on blog posts.  Let's see if I can play lightning-round style catch up.  Here's what I made in October:

Baby food
It's back!  Baking, steaming, blending and freezing.  Jack is a fan.  A very big fan.

Soft Books
It started as a Happy Birthday to Baby Joe gift and The Books of Carsten and Daniel soon followed. Far too much fun to make.  Especially little felt tube socks.  And trees.

Plane Entertainment
Granted, she ended up only needing Daddy's laptop and some apple juice, but Rory's first plane trip included a new cute backpack, recycled doodle books (I've made a bazillion of them), and some spiffy fabric snack bags.

The Practice Bouquet
For beautiful bride Shannon, her practice bouquet made with ribbons from her shower gifts.

Stuff for Rory
Old t-shirts make yet another appearance, having new lives as 1) a peasant-style TCU shirt and 2) a bright red nightgown with a fun pink ruffle.  Also, for Halloween she wanted to be a TCU cheerleader.  I was happy to oblige.  That pattern looked much, much easier than the alternative T-Rex.

Spy Owls, Etc.
They've been a hit!  I made a special request fox, too.

Highchair re-do
The highchair needed an updated look.  Out with the old and in with the stripes.
